Coterie Boutique began at zero. These enterprising women began by exploring what the word “coterie” means in French ( a close association of friends) and they knew they would go to market with a vibrant color pallet. They wanted to stand out from the rest of the pack, but they had no traction, no history, branded collateral, and no location. It all started to ‘gel’ when they decided to open at the Lake Walk Town Center.
Coterie had to be a distinctive presence in town. They had to get noticed in a new development and draw a discerning clientele into their beautiful new space. These women know how to make people feel welcome, but they needed a set of brand assets to match the warmth and excitement of their boutique. We were happy to help.
We spent a full afternoon in a brand discovery workshop and built their brand objectives, their client personas, brand statement/position, market position, their archetypal voice, and visual preferences. From that workshop, our team would have enough to go on to build brand looks and generate feedback on design. Logos, color sets, typography, and supporting assets would follow to build print, web, and social media assets. We knew a seasonal lookbook/magazine would help them introduce their new lines to their emerging customer base. Media would help them gain traction and energize their marketing strategy.
We worked the plan! A few hours exploring various branded concepts with the ladies — getting feedback, applause, and a few “no thanks!” — really helped steer the look and feel of the shop. The media looked great, the signage matched the stunning interior Jenny & Jackie curated. The models looked fantastic in the Coterie clothing and represented the spirit of the shop perfectly.
Coterie opened in February with a bright grand opening party in the crisp winter air. It’s only grown from there. Summer dresses followed and they are rolling out their fall line as this post uploads.
