The Future of Chick-fil-A Drive-Thru is Here!

Is this the Chick-fil-A of the future? OR just a summer-time fever dream of a world that could be – a world that should be?!

New Concept Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A’s top stores served somewhere around 100K visitors per store last month!

America just can’t get enough nugs!

The Chick-fil-A operates more than 2,300 restaurants, primarily in the United States with locations in 47 states and plans for a site in Hawaii – their 48th of the 50 states. Chick-fil-A’s top stores served somewhere around 100K visitors per store last month — they can move visitors! Of the 1,657 locations for which we can monitor foot traffic (High-Octane Marketing), we know there are stores out there that do even more business than our Central Texas franchises. The demand for this product is impressive.

touch-screen order – pick up in the shade

Priority: Need for Efficiency & Speed

Maximize that footprint, baby!
limited square footage means we should build up – kitchen on the upper level drops the numbered order to the drive-through level below – like an elevator for your food

Automate that ordering – we gotta keep moving!
eliminate the heatstroke – customers order/pay from menu kiosks at their lane entry-point or type in their mobile order code

Six-‘speed lanes’ instead of two – and there will probably still be a line!
let’s move those hungry customers through those lanes – the covered food pick up point means we stay dry in the rain and cool in the shade- thank you, Chick-fil-A! (smiles: my pleasure)

6 lane drive-thru!

Stay versatile with mobile orders & a community rally point!
the first level can be dedicated playground space, host events (birthday parties, fundraisers, little league championship celebrations), or accommodate more seating as needed

Building the future, my great-grandkids are gonna need waffle-fries!
look, it’s only a matter of time until Chick-fil-A deploys an autonomous delivery system to deliver nuggets and Polynesian sauce straight to my house – the vehicles can load through these same six lanes

So, How Did We Get Here?

This began when our shop started dreaming about ‘Next Level Chick-fil-A’ -whiteboarding ways to get even more traffic through their busy locations. For fun, we came up with the above concept and had our motion-graphics-marine build out a model. What did you think? Let us know what we should add? A lazy river?
